Great place!! If you have that late night sushi craving as I did, this is the only place to go!!! The food is amazing and you can taste how fresh the sushi is with every bite. The bartender is great, really knows his stuff. Perfect drinks.

We ate here our last afternoon in Miami. The hostess who sat us was very unfriendly and not very helpful. Our waiter was a different story. He was incredibly sweet and helpful when it came to recommendations. I ordered the chicken pad thai ($12) which was great. Not the best Ive ever had but definitely really good. My friend ordered the coconut chicken curry($13). I tried a bit of hers and it too was done well. We ordered a pitcher of their white sangria ($22). This I could have done without. It tasted like pineapple and orange juice mixed with a little sprite. Overall Id definitely return to this restaurant if in the area. The service was great and the food was good! Not to mention the prices are surprisingly decent for South beach!

I LOOOOOVE sushi and love lounges so I thought this would be a good bet. The outdoor area was actually pretty cool. Our waiter was nice. He was very sweet an apologetic to inform us there was no shrimp tempura (uhhhh) and no soda (okaaaay)... Calamari 7.5/10 - Crunchy. Fresh. Yummy. Spicy dipping sauce. Would order again. When our sushi finally came out we had no chopsticks or bowls for soy sauce. Waited another 4-5 minutes for that. The seafood salad roll was small and spongy. Fake crab. Blah. 2/10 The rainbow roll was good. Fresh. 6.5/10 We were still hungry but disillusioned with sushi. Ordered fish tacos. The crispy shells were more like a cracker? Fish overlooked slightly. Good veggies and sauce. 4/10 Wouldn't return. Too many other great places to try!

STAY AWAY STAY AWAY STAY AWAY. Came here seeking some tourist-level asian food for a quick supper before hitting SoBe. This was a mistake. 1. My friend's entree came before their appetizers. ( -1 star) 2. They had 3 courses before I ever got my food. I waited 1.5hrs for some salty pad-thai (-2 stars) 3. Our usual boozy breakfast and lunch had already left us dehydrated. The food tasted like it'd been cooked in ocean water. Way too much salt! (-1star) 4. The open-air smoking that happened to the left and right of us made everything taste like smoke (-0.5) 5. The most RACIST drinks menu every made. It's not tongue in cheek "funny." It is rude and made a bad experience even worse. Drinks like "Asian Fetish" and "Asian Hook Her" should never exist. Imagine if there was something similar for Latinas, Afro-Americans or Native Americans. (-500 stars) Service was awful. Food was salty. Drinks were inSULting. We wanted to leave negative tip but unfortunately 18% gratuity was already included. No thanks and never again. STAY AWAY STAY AWAY STAY AWAY STAY AWAY STAY AWAY

Great lively atmosphere at Fung Ku. Staff was friendly and service was fast. I had a chicken pad thai, that was simply Excellent! My friends and I shared a huge cocktail bowl that had us dancing the whole night. I will be back soon!

Horrible restaurant. Ate inside near the bar. Poor service, they ran out of silverware? who does that?! My friends salmon & broccoli was super duper dry and inedible. My seabass filet was tasty but it was the smallest filet I've seen my life - not worth the money!! Edamame is good. Dynamite Sushi was delicious. I'm sure there are other sushi places, avoid this place and go someplace good.

Again, I will complain about service. This seems to be a common topic when discussing south beach eateries. I guess when you are guaranteed 15% on the check, why make your customer's dinner enjoyable? The hostess was friendly and sat us immediately on the patio (sidewalk) on a comfy little couch, where we were able to people watch, and count the endless amount of bentleys and ferraris passing (thats another story). We waited for our waiter, finally he came, took our drink order, we waited some more. Then we ordered our food, a simple bbq eel/avocado roll (guess what... we waited for that too, simple appetizer right?), we ended up ordering Seafood coconut curry and Mongolian beef. For the price, the portions are HUGE! Surprisingly our waiter checked up on us with a smile, and asked us where we were from, hinting at conversation, but never following up with it. I'm giving this place 4 stars for the food, definitely not the service... Maybe next time we will try take out.

Horrible food, horrible service. Ridiculously over priced. Don't waste your time or money, there are better places on south beach.

Okay, okay. Before I get the resounding chorus of 'DUH!', I feel like I need to explain a few things. 1.) I was starving. I hadn't had anything to eat in over 12 hours and I had been working pretty strenuously for 5 of them. I was delirious; 2.) Before coming here, my colleague and I walked the streets like a 'dancer' from Club Madonna (or Twist; I am an equal opportunity caller outer of hos) in search of some deep pockets and a patsy with lack of common sense -- only in our case, we were hungry; 3.) It was hot and muggy and after an aborted attempt to kick it in da club (yes, we were hungry and thirsty and we went to a club first), didn't have much strength to travel farther; and 4.) there are, like, no restaurants on this stretch of Collins. Obviously, it was a conspiracy to come here. Seeing lights on, we ambled to the patio, I took out my Yelp app, looked it up... and lawdhamercy, 2 stars. I didn't go without food for a day for 2 stars! But, we were already sitting down. Trapped. That's when the smell hit me. The patio furniture has the not-so-faint scent of mildew. Appetizing, no? After deciding the pen the Great American Novelâ„¢, our waiter decided to see what we were doing. He soon figured out that we were in need of food. My trick to ordering food at what might be a sketchy place: booze. Booze kills isht. I ordered a drink. I received water in a martini glass. If there was any alcohol in that thing, I'm Kim Kardashian's new man. Judging by the lack of weave in my bed/bathroom, I'm going with 'no booze.' I was in trouble. Scurred because I had no weapons with which to fight the funk, I ordered a safe maki roll. That's right: starved, I ordered one roll. It's a good thing too, because it took over 45 minutes to come to the table. Did you hear me -- 45 minutes late at night with no crowd. Wha?? When our waiter finally returned and dropped off our food, he was nice enough (and even a little chatty at this point) but the snail's pace service, bland (even for a simple roll) food, weak drink, lack of a crowd, and dingy seating were enough to let me know never to come here again. The next time I need to get a CM/T (that's Club Madonna/Twist) stroll on late at night in search of food, remind me to go home and have some Chobani.

Eh! This was just ok. I got lured in by being handed a $10 off coupon. The sushi was just mediocre. This may be my by attitude coming through. I ordered the kung fu cocktail and it does pack a punch. Good job. The sushi was blah. I order a king krab roll which is one of their cucumber rolls. I thought the crab tasted watery and the cucumber was too hard for my liking. The creamy spicy crab was not what I expected. I expected a spicy mayo but did not find one. It was spicy but the tuna was old and too dark. Yuck!!!! Took a lot of time to get the check. Then I was given a hard time about the promotion card I was handed that night. Not the sushi place in sobe for me :( Updated review, I got guilted into buying some pad thai while I was a little tipsy from the bar. Didn't even pass for good drunk food.

Ill start with the good.. The sushi was decent. Ok so now the rest.. The server quoted the pitcher prices as $22,25,29.. Then charged me $40. It would have been cheaper to buy individual drinks, and they probably would have been stronger/better. The server disappeared for long periods of time and our courses were served rather far apart.. At the end when I asked the manager to review my bill, he barely took 35 seconds to say no. I've been a restaurant manager and a customer experience manager before, he lacked the skills of both roles. Not going back.

  • Sean M.

I have been here a couple of times patronizing the bar, being that I knew someone who worked there. The people who work here all need mood stabilizers, the bar is corrupt. They do not have menus for the drinks, and when you get your bill you crap bricks. They also coerce their bartenders to befriend you and make you buy them drinks. After befriending you, they pretend that they are buying themselves a drink(which they never pay for) to make you feel guilty, so you buy them the drink. Make sure you ask to see your bill because they will include a 18% gratuity in the bill without telling you. Lots of people end up tipping them more money totally unaware that they already included automatic gratuity in the bill. This is a typical corrupt bad South Beach establishment, so beware my friends.

Had such a great time! Robert the manager invited us in from next door where we were all staying. He gave us free shots and personalized service the entire time. Ivan at the bar was great too. Very nice and personable. All 9 of us girls had a great time and dinner was very good. Highly recommend them. Their roof top bar and pool is very relaxing.

Our server was awesome, Luis had great recommendations and the best was to have the korean bbq spare rib .... He was right it was amazing. Definitely enjoyed everything here, would def recommend! Enjoy!

They get one star bc the scenery was very chic and bc I needed at least a star to rate them. The service was the absolutely HORRIBLE. I waited for my order for over 45 min and couldn't get a refill on my soda or water to save my life. The food was average. Save your money and time this place wasn't worth it.

I ordered "up" to the pool for lunch, and was sadly disappointed by the quality and presentation of my tuna tacos. The tacos were soggy by the time they arrived and the tuna just.wasn't.good. I'm a tuna whore, and these did not satisfy. It was back to ordering omelettes and big plates of fries for each and every meal I ate at the pool (and I ate every meal at the pool, other than a dinner at Nobu).

This is the best restaurant I have ever been to! Fish is so fresh, service is spectacular, and the atmosphere is relaxing! The chef is amazing with special rolls I recommend everyone to try whatever is for special that day. Manager dmitry came up to us right away and was so pleasant asked how everything was and made the experience even more enjoyable. If you are a sushi lover I recommend you coming here!

Desperately searching for a sushi place on the beach that was open at midnight on a Wednesday night was hectic. Low and behold using my trusty Yelp mobile app I find Kung Fu Sushi- kitchen open till 1 am. I have stayed in The Catalina Hotel before and eaten at Maxine's but never had Kung Fu Sushi. I do remember seeing Pauly Shore in a commercial for this place. Anyways, we were so happy they were open so we stopped in. The decor is super nice. You can sit outside or indoors. We opted for inside because once again, true Miamians can't with the heat outside. We ordered the Kung Fu Crunch Roll, The Rock n Roll, Dragon Roll (which was actually one of the best Dragon Rolls I've had in a while) and the salmon carpaccio. OMG delicious! Everything was great. You may have some top competitors on South beach when it comes to Sushi but you definitely beat them for your mouthwatering sushi and keeping the kitchen open past 11pm on a weeknight. Well worth it!

Since my hotel provided a daily $20 credit to this place, I came here for several meals. You can choose to sit indoors or outdoors, but given the location on Collins, sitting outside affords you plenty of good people watching. The good: Kung Fu Crunch roll (krab stick, cream cheese, tempua flakes, topped with spicy tuna and eel sauce), Ceviche with some chips, Tuna Tartar Tacos ($10 for 2 or $3 each during happy hour), Garlic spinach with soy, Sweet Potato fries ($8 at dinner, $4 during HH), Dragon roll (Shrimp Tempura with Avocado), Mojitos and Margaritas. The bad: The service. It was good once seated but after that, the kitchen was horrendously slow, at times, getting the food out. That isn't always the server's fault, but the servers were very slow getting the check to us or checking on us. I would not recommend this place for getting in and out unless you got take-out. Overall, I loved the food. Plus, it was nice that we could use the hotel credit during happy hour.

Came here with a freind during Winter Music Conference since I was staying at the hotel Catalina and this restaurant was onsite. It was supposed to be convenient. I ordered from Dmitri and he took forever to bring out our drinks, he then messed up the order...when we brought it to his attention he had attitude with us for no reason. We were on vacation so we just blew it off. He then took about 25-30 minutes to bring out our bill. Once he did he gave us more attitude. He then charged my friend an incorrect amount. He got upset and went inside to complain. He was directed to go to the bartender to get the payment corrected. He went in to see Dennis inside (That's what he said his name was) and was treated rudely. Dennis corrected the mistake but was charged twice. Dennis almost got pleasure out of it. Avoid restaurants like this. They take advantage of the automatic tip but giving the worst service. Funny thing is that this happened to me 2 years ago during WMC with a female waitress. This place is not equipped to take on busy periods and instead relly on making this place seemed packed but its really because customers are waiting. The worst part of all the sushi was crap. Sort of like an all you can eat place in terms of quality but prices as if it's good. GO TO NOBU when in Miami. This place is crap. Dmitri and Dennis are examples of why Miami needs to repeal the automatic TIP. They need to ensure proper service.

On our last night in Miami, it was raining so we decided to eat close to the hotel. So we first tried to eat at the Catalina spot close to our hotel but a hostess never appeared so we ran next door & decided to eat here. The lights were so low that you could barely see around. The place is over priced for the quality of food that you get. I ordered beef & broccoli & to be honest I get better food from the ghetto spot in the hood. Next trip to Miami I won't be stopping to eat here.

So my boyfriend and I were in miami for the first time and saw this place as we were driving and thought it looked really appealing..the atmosphere was nice and decorated lovely but as we started with drinks we ordered a large saporro and hot sake .. The saporro was not even the big ones and were way over priced the hot sake was absolutely cold and disgusting.. We then ordered 4 rolls which if anyone has ever eaten sushi these wouldn't even be considered a sushi roll because they were not fresh nor cold didn't even taste like fish.. Even ralphs sushi from the store would have been better.. Paying 100.00 for this was an absolute rip off we threw the rest into the street and was appauled they charge you an automatic 18% gratuity for nothing! Do not eat here!!

So I was visiting from out of town and friends wanted to go here for Miami Spice. We had reservations, but the hostess seemed to be confused and not understand us. First she offered for us to sit outside, but then said they didn't have a table big enough for us outside. Then she took us inside and seated us at a special table, which had been reserved for a private party. Eventually we were seated at a table, and then waited quite a long time for our server to appear. The Rock Shrimp was the highlight of my meal - good portion size and great taste. The Kung Fu Crunch Rolls was good, but not great sushi. I later discovered that the sushi chef was a white guy hiding behind a wall - hmm, I wonder why they hide him?? I really don't think there is anything authentic Asian about this place. The decor doesn't match the anime themed menus and TVs. None of the staff are Asian. So basically, I'd never go here again, but it wasn't horrible.

Shortly after landing in Miami on a friday afternoon and settling in my hotel at the Shelbourne, my friends and I were hungry! So we pretty much went to the first place we saw which was somewhat across the street. Im not a sushi lover but I eat it. The sushi was average. Our service was poor. We paid and waited over 20 minutes for our waitress to make sure she had money to give us change.. We seriously almost walked out the place. She was friendly but I wasn't sure if she was new because we also asked the price of a saki bomb, she didnt know and we waited a few mins to find out. The hotel is nice but that restaurant...not so much.

Last night's visit was such a disappointment from the previous time that not only am I lowering my rating, I will also never come back here to eat. When you make a reservation on opentable.com they give you a round of Mai Tais for the table. Our waiter did not seem aware of the promotion when I specifically asked. He went to inquire and did return with a round of small drinks. Service was bad. The food took forever to come out and I had to ask three times for more water. I finally got a refill just before the check arrived. The portions are tiny, barely enough for one person. We ordered 4 main dishes to share family style for 4 small eaters but we all left hungry. The food is mediocre at best. You are better off going to your hole in the wall Asian restaurant, pay half the money and receive three times the amount of food. Don't order the Peking duck. It is on the menu as a main dish but more fit as an appetizer. They give you the duck meat already wrapped into mandarin pancakes with hoisin sauce. They give you so little duck meat that it takes a microscope to detect it inside the pancake. I also very much doubt they even made the pancakes, they weren't warm and looked like they came straight out of a grocery store wrapper. I was so turned off by the lack of service and poor quality of food that I did not even order dessert, despite the fact I was still hungry and LOVE any kind of dessert. If you're in town looking for some good Asian food I recommend Tony's Sushi, Kone Temaki Lounge or World Resource Cafe instead.

My boyfriend and I were visiting Miami for our first time and we decided to try Kung Fu Sushi. We had a gift certificate from restaurant.com and decided to give it a try. The restaurant is on the lower level of the Catalina Hotel and when we first walked in, we noticed the bar directly in front of us and the restaurant area on the left and a lounge area to the right. We sat on one of the sofas in the lounge and started with a few drinks before dinner. We noticed there was outdoor seating that looked pretty cozy, but since it was pouring down rain this was not an option. We ordered the Sunny Delight Roll and it was delicious! In addition to imitation crab meat, there were mangoes, avocados, and sunflower seeds. I love sushi and I am not crazy about it if it doesn't include raw fish, but this was excellent. For my entree, I ordered the Samurai Tuna Steak and had it blackened and seared. It was cooked perfectly and was one of the best I've ever had. The steak was a good size and came with a nice amount of vegetables on the side. Kung Fu Sushi is a little on the pricey side for the food, but it seems like most places in Miami are overpriced. Thank goodness for the certificate because it saved us $25!

Came here Saturday, early evening for dinner with my friends. We ordered a pitcher of cucumber mojito (which they all really liked) and a bottle of wine (only $30!). For food- we got edamame, rock shrimp and soft shell chinese buns as appetizers. All were really great! For entrees, 3 of us got ramen noodles, 1 got the coconut curry rice bowl and the last got the bbq short rib. I think the coconut curry was the best as the noodles were lacking in flavor. We each added a good amount of sriracha to it and that def helped but it wasnt the rich broth we were each looking forward to. As for service, our waitress Ruby was fantastic! She was kind, helpful and fun with us. I would def go back!

Worste experience ever, we placed our order and 45 mins. Later asked how come was it taking so long? Te waiter told me that the one who waited on us was dismissed and never placed our order with chef. Music was super loud and service non existing, ask for the manager and never showed up.....

It's in South Beach, and it's on Collins. Those are the two main reasons to go here. The staff is also nice and efficient. Beyond that, I remember how I used to think of sushi before becoming a fan, and it's because of rolls like I found here. One of the 3 rolls I had was actually good, the Kung Fu Crunch. There may be another good roll on the menu, but I didn't find it. My wife said the sushi chefs were Cuban, but did look slightly Asian, which counts for something. Maybe in future, there will be lechon roll, pork and black beans rolled up in white rice. Until then the only thing kung fu related here is that you feel like giving someone a throat chop for making you pay $17 for a roll that could be sold at the grocery store. The green tea that came to the table in a paper bag for me to fix up was $4, but hey, it's South Beach. That's about everything worth saying.

So Yeah. Being a Miami Beach local I usually try to stay away from all the touristy type restaurants. But Kung Fu was sooooo yummy! I ordered their Kung Fu Crunch Roll for the table and since everyone finished it up so fast we had to order 2 more for the table. For out main course we ordered the duck. Again...really yummy. Thumbs Up. We got to sit outside and watch their weekly burlesque show and at the same time still got to people watch. The location was great because we were literally walking distance to our next location which was all the trendy hotel bars and clubs. Kung Fu is Yummmyyyyy!!!!! Def. try it.

I really, really, really wanted to give this place more than two stars but I just can't bring myself to do it. First of all, I've seen more breasts at this restaurant than I have in my entire life as a woman. And no, I don't mean women dining, I mean actual full on exposed boobaliciousness. But that's besides the point. After a long day in Key West, I popped over to take out some sushi. Not only did they take a good 30 minutes to prepare my food but they screwed my order up. Instead of sushi they gave me sashimi when I specifically ordered sushi. $30 for a roll and 4 pieces of sushi and they can't get my order right? Not cool. There was, however, an awesome DJ. If you MUST go here. go for drinks only otherwise there are much better sushi experiences on Lincoln Rd.

Contrary to what other reviewers said, I thought the service was great. We didn't have to wait long for anything and our server was very attentive. The food was alright-- not horrible, but I've definitely had better and paid much less. Everything needed more flavor. The best part of our dinner was the apple ginger mojito that my husband ordered. I had the cosmopolychee, but wasn't impressed and kept stealing sips of the mojito! The atmosphere in the outdoor dining area was very pleasant. Overall, it wasn't bad for a restaurant on the beach.

DONT NOT COME HERE!! WORST asian food ever!!. I ordered the seared tuna and it came out FULLY cooked. and the brown rice they gave us was still uncooked. I told the waiter about it and he stated that is how brown rice are. I am asian I know my rice and I know what texture the brown rice suppose to be. Even mentioning to him about it he just brush it off like I didn't even tell him. The food was OVER PRICED!!!

Just recently I bought a Groupon from this restaurant ($29 for $70), I said that's a good deal, lets buy it. I went today with my girlfriend, we arrived around 3pm, and there was no one in the restaurant. We decided after going through the menu to order a house salad, 1 roll, 2 ice teas ( we returned one because it was really bad), 3 Sapporos (beer) and 10 pieces of Nigiri (raw pieces of sushi with rice). The food was low quality and the service was poor (we were basically the only ones at the place). My bill ended up totaling $110 (extremely over priced considering the quality of the food and the service). So in addition to my credit card I also included my Groupon to the waitress. When the waitress brought the check back and I reviewed it, she had only deducted $29 from my bill (the same amount the Groupon was purchased for) and then you can only imagine my reaction. I then said to the waitress, do u really think that I took my time to purchase a Groupon for $29 dollars that was only worth $29????????? The Groupon is worth a $70. Anyhow, I suggest you go to Akashi (south Miami) and believe me don't waste your time at Kung Fu Kitchen even if u are a tourist.

We headed here for a bachelorette party on Saturday and had such a great time. We could not have asked for better service. The restaurant had bachelorette party favors ready for us - a group of 10 very rowdy girls. We were a handful, to say the very least, but they handled everything spectacularly. I had the spicy tuna roll and philly roll, which were both delicious. All the drinks were made to perfection. They definitely didn't skimp on the alcohol. Overall, I think everyone seemed to like the food. No question that we all loved the drinks and the service. The waiters and bartenders were highly entertaining and provided a great start to a wild night.

Went there on Friday for a bachelorette dinner...The place wasn't as busy as I thought it would be on a weekend. There was barely anyone inside and not all of the tables were full outside. It took about an hour and a half to get appetizers. We complained constantly about out food and nothing...The food was good but for the price and service it really wasn't worth it. At all. Ill never go back here again and I'd find another place on the beach to get some sushi.

  • Giang L.

Atmosphere is nice and clean. That's the only good I can say about this place. I had the ceviche and it had the weirdest taste. It was also weird that they would turn off the outdoor fans in 90 degree weather with 100% humidity. They also charged for everything. I know it's Miami but I think it's inexcusable.

    (1)
  • Boo M.

UGH. The drinks here were watered down and the sushi tasted like I was eating an eraser. The people were nice, though, so I give them a star. The only good thing I had was the white chocolate banana cream pie, which I do have to say, was borderline amazing... Other than that, you're better off going to the CVS down the street, buying a pair of cheap flip-flops, and chewing on those.

Food was okay. My sushi was tasteless and very loosely wrapped, making it hard to eat. My husband loved the pad Thai he ordered. Great location. Decent service. There are a million sushi spots in south beach, next time I'd go elsewhere.

We ate here a few times while in town because we had a free $20 certificate everyday. The food was pretty good, but the service was horrendous. They did have a good happy hour with great little appetizers and a few sushi rolls. The Kung Fu Crunch roll was great, the creamy crispy shrimp were awesome and the tuna tartare tacos were killer ($3 on the Happy Hour Menu). I also really enjoyed the spare ribs (that are on the happy hour menu for $4) Overall mos of the food we ate was very good, but the service was the killer here. The servers took forever to bring out the food, disappeared once the food was dropped and you had to hunt them down to get the bill.

Visiting Miami and wanted some good food. Stumbled into Kung Fu. No wait to be seated but no one was here for lunch. Subpar poor quality sushi. Didn't even finish my dish because I began feeling nervous about the quality. Restaurant had painter walking back and forth through dining area and fruit flies all around. This added to my concern so I left my food and ate at The W.

Ah, trendy South Beach! It's a place to see and be seen, but you won't be seeing me at this Collins ave spot again! We get there around 3pm and were seated outside at a table right in front of a large speaker where a DJ was spinning some house music. It was pretty loud, and upon request we were moved to a different table. The food was not good at all. We ordered Tuna Tartare taco app, which looked good, but was quite salty. Next was one of those sushi boats for 2. The roll was OK, but the sushi was lousy. The raw fish was mushy, as if it had been frozen and defrosted more than once. It wouldn't have bothered me as much if it had not cost me $106 for this lackluster meal including 18% tip, which they added automatically. We didn't even order any drinks! The service was fine, but all in all not a good experience.

The Kung fu crunch was amazing and the service was great! We loved esuardo! We went to a free dinner for ladies through Derek from the South Beach group and he really showed us a great time! I would def go back anytime. The coconut curry chicken was out of this world!!!

Kung fu is a cool spot with a great vibe, music, and a nice crowd. The food is good and the sushi is very fresh. You go for the drinks and the atmosphere. The staff is very good looking and friendly and not on top of you. I know some people need that type of babysitting but I don't like servers in my face and I don't need to constantly be asked how I am to enjoy my meal. I had a cucumber cooler which was delicious and after 3 I switched to straight tequila which they had a nice selection of.

i liked the outdoor tables on collins and it was just fun to sit and chill. we got the red dragon, kung fu crunch sushi and other not so remarkable sushi. while they looked good and tasted like any other sushi i've had, what we really liked were the drinks. hubby and i enjoyed the mojitos... service was ok as we were there at an odd time. not a must stop, but probaby worth a try if you like to compare places... p.s. double-check your bill, coz most restos automatically add tip to the bill

Seriously, worst place I have been to in a while. Sushi was the size of a dice, and 6 dice cost 12 bucks. There was LETTUCE in my spicy salmon sushi. What are you trying to fill up, the sushi is tiny! Not to mention, half the sushi fell apart as I was eating it. Boy friend got the Pad thai, which came with no peanuts or bean sprouts, and was swimming in a sweet sauce very reminiscent of frozen chinese food dinners. This pleasure cost us 50 bucks for two after factoring in tax and 18% mandatory tip.

horrible, horrible service. less than mediocre food & way over priced.

Fabulous people watching = 5 stars. Actual sushi? 2 1/2 stars. Which makes this place a solid 3 1/2 star spot. Luckily, we stopped in during happy hour to take advantage of the $4 maki rolls and $5 mojitos. Had the salmon, spicy tuna and the Kung Fu roll. Salmon was ok, the spicy tuna had more mayonnaise than actual tuna (yuk) but the Kung Fu roll was well worth the $4 (yum). The mojito? C'mon! It's $5! Can't beat that! Service did not suck

If you are from New York avoid the food. I would however go to the rooftop pool with full bar inside the hotel. It's open to everyone (nobody asked for proof that we are staying in the hotel), so bring your bathing suit, have drink and relax. The live music was nice (they have that on some nights). To get to the rooftop pool, just walk inside the hotel and find the elevator which is to the left of the restaurant's bar. If you really care for the food you can order from the Kung Fu Kitchen menu there too - I reiterate, food is not good. Bonus Tip: Hotel guests get an open bar happy hour from 7-8PM and they don't seem very strict about asking for proof that your staying at the hotel. You don't need a bracelet or anything at most they will ask for your room key as proof. Rooftop Pool Bar hours: 9 am - 9 pm, Monday through Sunday This restaurant is in the Dorset Hotel which is part of the Catalina Hotel & Beach Club: yelp.com/biz/catalina-ho…

This is worst restaurant ever! Costco Edamame is much better. The dish we rec'd was old and yellow. The veggie roll we pitiful! Chicken dish was hardly edible. They got the Bombay Sapphire on the rocks right but then how could they screw this up? Save your money and go to burger king, which is bad also.

Kung Fu Sushi is actually a small restaurant in the lobby of the Catalina Hotel. The sushi is OK, but the real pull is the outdoor seating and funky atmosphere. The only thing I didn't really like was the loud music that rattled my brain towards the end of our meal. We ordered 4 different rolls and a couple of deserts between 2 of us and it seemed to be the perfect amount. The spider roll was good, but the real treat for the evening was the amazing chocolate cake desert. I don't even like chocolate and I couldn't eat enough of this stuff. Dinner with 4 rolls, 2 deserts and 2 drinks ran us $120.00 and thats not too bad for South Beach.

okIt took about an hour and a half to get appetizers. We complained constantly about out food and nothing...The food was good but for the price and service it really wasn't worth it. At all.

We had a ceviche, with an appetizer ( tuna tar tar taco) amazing!! I don't like guacamole but the way it was prepare... outstanding! We also tried sushi (yummy) with some delicious Rossini's We definitely recommend the restauran, you have everything in one place, not forgetting the service.

Do not order either the pad Thai or the udon.they are bland and overpriced. No mirin on the udon. No hint of Thai spices on the pad Thai.its just a reddish salty noodle.the miso sea bass is average, not worth the $23. In fact just order the drinks. The mojito is excellent.service was OK. Quite surprised that tips is automatically added for party of 4.

Zero stars!! Greasy, disgusting, waste of money. Everything you think you're getting on the menu, you're NOT getting it. Expect a mystery dish that confuses you and drives you nuts. Everything is drenched in oil, worse than jack in the box. Maybe Jack in the box is BETTER! I can already feel the stomach pains coming on, need to book an hour in the toilet. Oh no!!!

love this place! this is a go to every time my friend and i are visiting miami. a little pricey for the quality, but so is everything else in south beach. friendly staff, though perhaps not the most attentive on a busy night. probably the best assets of the place is its in a great location and great for people watching. great happy hour prices too. i've been here probably a dozen times over several trips, and have never had a bad experience.

We ate here about a week ago. The sushi was great. That's why it got 2 stars. Our server Yuranis took it upon herself to add in a tip to our bill which we didn't find out about until later. We contacted management and they didn't seem to care. If you go, pay cash

Let me preface this by saying that I came here with my chinese family from NYC and we were a party of 12. After 2 days of being rice deprived kung fu kitchen and sushi was a sight for sore eyes (and bellies). The service was great, trendy decor, and we were seated promptly. The manager/hostess/waiters kept coming around to make sure everything was okay. The food was good (not your typical chinese take-out) and the vegetables were fresh. We also ordered a few drinks from the drink menu and everything was yummy. Overall I would recommend this place, the prices are decent for South Beach!

Ugh. Super pricey and weak drinks. The service was so slow we almost walked out on the check. It took forever to first even get a menu, then our two tiny $10 drinks and a mediocre appetizer. We didn't eat a meal here. They had a silly cabaret show going on as well which didn't seem to fit a sushi themed restaurant.

Not on my rotation. Had a restaurant.com coupon. Sushi wasn't the worst nor the best...edible is the word. Drinks were WEAK. Service was good they took forever though. Ambiance was a bit ghetto and it was a Sunday night. Will I return NO- but give it a try if you wish.

I live nearby and wanted to love this place. It fell short on every level. Food was uninspired. Menu, while extensive, offers nothing you can't get for less. Please, dear owners, if you change your menu (it needs to be pared down to what you can really do well) let me know and we'll come again. As it is, you're offering sushi and pseudo-Chinese. We could really use a good healthy sitr fry place - two cooks and a wok and you're good to go. Sushi is abundant here. Perhaps you don't need to change because you can count on a constantly changing unsuspecting tourist trade to stop by because of your location and outdoor ambience. BUT PLEASE, you know you can do better than this. Chicken salad, for instance, was two very dried out small hunks of chicken breast with a nearly flavorless ginger miso dressing (I have a recipe I can share with you that is 10 times better). No one at our table was pleased and your $$ prices didn't make it worthwhile.

Do not eat at this place they will ripyou off with the prices service is bad and food time takes for ever cero stars a lot of places en south beach same price more qualitithe sushi is the same as you eat at publix. You have to wait for sushi same time as if you order paella in spanish rest. 45 min for california roll

The first and last time to visit in this place. First off all since we got the table waiting for tap water 10 mins, glass kind of dirty..! Next waiting for the waiter to take the order around the same time for the food coming around 20-30 mins..the food is underaverage..! Not surprised.! The worst thing is the service that..i never had in ma life before..poor..!

Went for dinner hoping to sit out side but it was raining. We sat inside but it was very distracting with the hotel guests coming in and out of the elevators and up and down the stairs. Good music. I was disappointed with the Ceviche which was listed on the menu as Peruvian style...not even close! But the Miso Glazed Sea Bass was amazing. I could've eaten just that all nite. We also ordered the Kung Fu Crunch and Trinity rolls and they were good. Washed it all down with an ice cold Tsingtsao beer. YUM. No dessert for me this time.

I'm a huge sushi lover, but to be honest it's hard to find a place with good rolls! I was pleasant surprise with a quality of food at Kung Fu. I had Dragon roll and Salmon roll which where delicious! The salmon was really fresh and just melted in the mouth. We had some martinis and they were strong and tasty. For the main course i had Coconut Seafood Carry, pretty big portion which u can share, if u r two tiny girls ;) The location is great too! It wasn't a busy night, so the servis was fast.

We stayed at Catalina and got a gift card from the front desk to dine at KFK. I was skeptical after reading some reviews, but although the service was not the most professional i've encountered, it was friendly and we had our food within 20 minutes of ordering. 7 out of 8 dishes were good (skip the ceviche). I did feel that the food is a bit overpriced relative to quality, but it was an enjoyable experience. Dinner for 3 and one martini each = $130 (including tax and tip)

This was my first time visiting this absolutely outstanding sushi ensemble. The prices were more than fair, the quality was devine. The drinks were flowing, the music had me loving the environment, and the dining area was very spacious. Overall the sushi was really good, one of the best spicy tuna rolls i've ever encountered. If you are looking to have a great time at a modern, hip place where you not only have fun but get quality food, KUNG FU KITCHEN AND SUSHI is the WAY TO GO!!!!

I went on a Saturday, and it was amazing. The service was great from my server Elisa, the food was amazing I had the Beef Pad Thai. Anyway, we went for the burlesque show, by Shameless Burlesque and the nite just got better and better. The venue was great, the service was awesome. Will go back soon for different food. Also Morgan the GM was quite accommodating. It was very pleasant, will recommend! The interior was decorated with Asian flare very nice!!!

Stopped in for a quick dinner with a friend. It was not as quick as we had hoped for sine for some reason service in Miami is always painfully slow. We ordered 2 rolls and each had a drink and it turned out to be 42 including tip. Not too bad - the rolls were tasty (we had the strimp tempura roll and the hot stuff roll) and the drinks were strong. Great outdoor atmosphere.

The food here was decent. Had a rainbow roll and the Mongolian beef. The biggest issue was the service. We sat outside and after we received our food, the guy waiting on us disappeared. Waited for about 15 minutes, while finishing up our drinks, before I asked a busboy to find our waiter. Not sure if that ever happened, because he didn't reappear for another 15 minutes or so with our bill. What really sucks is they automatically add 18% gratuity to the bill, so the waiters tip was a lot more then it should've been. All in all, the food was pretty good but the service was garbage.

RIP OFF!!! We placed an order for take out and when my husband got there to pick it up EVERY item on our bill was priced $2 -$3 more than what was on the menu. The portions were very small, and when they say you get 2 sashimi you really only get 1. They also charged us an 18% gratituity and we were only taking out. I called them when my husband got home w/ the bill they put me on hold and then convienently hung up! Never again!!

my wife and I had dinner with friends that couldnt come out, so we decided to take out from this place, which was right where we stayed. the food was below average and not very good. we eat sushi a lot. we ordered 6 specialty rolls and couple of salads. they charged us $15 on each. when we arrived to pick up, it turned out that it was happy hour and most of the stuff we ordered were much much less expensive. however the fellow claimed it was only for dine in which was totally BS (he wasnt very convincing and looked confused) $15 for spicy tuna roll when they sale it for $4...same with seawhet salad....it was a shame we have had much much better sushi on linclon only steps away on few occasions so i will urge people to go there...better food, better vibe etc also, the previous day, friends took up to this place called asia bay....up near 100st st which was amazing and even cheaper then this place....but i mean amazing...so if you feel like leaving south beach do give this place a try...its thai sushi mix and was really memorable

I was kinda iffy about this spot with some of the negative reviews but i realized they were from months ago and they probably made some significant changes to the restaurant. I live on miami beach and have seen Kung Fu several times. It always seemed like there were a lot of people sitting outside. Im not a fan of raw fish but i definitely love shrimp tempura. My girl and I went to Kung Fu and it was kinda busy. It was way too hot so we sat inside. It was such a cool vibe. Dark, good music, pretty waitress'. We got seated and aknowledged by a server right away. The menu was much more then sushi and I heard they got a new chef so i wanted to try the food also. General Tsos in one of my favorite dish so i ordered that with white rice. The bar also made us some stiff mohitos. The shrimp tempura roll came out very fast. It had cream cheese and avacodo in it and that combo was amazing. I almost ordered another one but i knew I had a big dish coming out. My general tsos chicken dish and my girlfriend's miso glazed sea bass came right up. The chicken was cooked just right and had a phenominal sauce. I tried my girl's sea bass and even though im not a huge fish fan.. the miso sauce made it taste amazing. Overall everything was great. The food, the vibe, the atmosphere, the staff, the music, made our experience at Kung Fu's worth it. Its kind of a party spot too because people were there just for drinks laughing and having a good time.. I will be back.

Food is awful. Service is worse. I'd give you more details but the other reviews that critique the food and service are all right on. In a nutshell: 91 dollars for 2 will get you less than occasional attentiveness and food that you can hardly finish.

First off, the hostess when we arrived asked us how many? I replied two and she started taking us to an outside table on the way she asked outside or inside. As it was a hot day I replied inside. At that point she went inside to check. I was about to leave as this took so long but had a restaurant.com certificate to use. Once we sat the waiter took our order and asked how we were doing. As we were just waiting for our food all we could reply was fine. There was a long wait when my mom's food came. I was still waiting for my food when she finished hers! It tastes good but was ruined by the fact that I had not received my order. I had ordered sushi and could not understand why my 1 roll took longer than her entire entree. I kept looking for the waiter and of course now that things were no longer fine he was no where to be seen. He never came back to check on the food or on our table. When I finally found him he said that my food would be soon. I then saw him take his time ringing up someone else's order while holding my food even though he knew I was waiting a long time. The roll was 8 tiny pieces and was so bland I didn;t even finish it . I complained to the waiter and he said oh I'll get the manager. No I'm sorry no empowerment to personally do anything for me. People who were staying at the hotel kept walking past my meal talking loud on the way to their rooms. There are too many sushi places in miami for me to waste any money here again!
